Murray cod open season kicks off on Sunday 1 December 2019 after a three-month closed season. Freshwater fishos have been counting down for weeks and expressing their excitement to catch their first cod of the season via social media.

Murray cod are arguably our most iconic native, freshwater species. We often see fishers quests to find a lustrous metre-plus cod online. When targeting our beloved cod, whether they are the prized metre-plus fish or smaller fish, it is incredibly important to ensure you are taking care of your catch to ensure the sustainability of this magnificent and unique fishery for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
