{"id":5433,"date":"2020-04-02T10:00:38","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T23:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vrfish.com.au\/?p=5433"},"modified":"2020-04-08T18:20:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-08T07:20:45","slug":"important-message-to-fishers-about-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vrfish.com.au\/2020\/04\/02\/important-message-to-fishers-about-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Message to Fishers About Covid-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UPDATED 1 APRIL 2020 &#8211; Stage 3 Restrictions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As of midnight 30 March, Victoria moved to Stage 3 restrictions. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The direction from Government is if you <strong>can stay at home, you must stay at home.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, the Minister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford contacted VRFish to inform us she had released a statement on her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JaalaPulfordMP\/\">Facebook page<\/a> outlining the Government&#8217;s position on recreational fishing during Stage 3 restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FJaalaPulfordMP%2Fposts%2F3340919975937697&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"223\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" allow=\"encrypted-media\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The statement reads:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;On fishing\u00a0????\u00a0&#8211;<\/em><\/p><p><em>The advice is clear, you need to stay home.<\/em><\/p><p><em>There are a lot of sacrifices we need to make \u2013 and going out to fish is one of them.<\/em><\/p><p><em>For some people, fishing is their job \u2013 and at this stage that\u2019s ok \u2013 however, if you don\u2019t need to go fishing, you shouldn\u2019t be.<\/em><\/p><p><em>Victoria Police have been clear if you&#8217;re not following the 4 reasons to be out &#8211; you will be fined. Protect our health system. Save Lives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Recreational Fishing licences<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Recreational fishing licence money goes into fish stocking, access and infrastructure. It will continue to be invested to make sure that when we can fish again there will be plenty of fish to catch.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This money also funds Fisheries Officers who are continuing to patrol the waterways.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Commercial fishing<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Commercial fishing plays an important part in supplying Victorians and can continue at this time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Recreational fishing charters<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>People cannot participate in recreational fishing or boating, this includes on charters.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATED 1 APRIL 2020 &#8211; Stage 3 Restrictions As of midnight 30 March, Victoria moved to Stage 3 restrictions.
