The Gas Terminal will bring in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) by ship to boost natural gas supply in South East Australia ahead of projected shortages.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is located adjacent to the Geelong Refinery and Refinery Pier in Geelong. The project comprises of a gas terminal with a continuous mooring of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), extension to the existing Refinery Pier to support a jetty arm and other ancillaries infrastructure, construction of nitrogen and odorant injection facilities and a 6.5km gas pipeline connecting to the South West pipeline at Lara. The FSRU would store liquified natural gas (LNG) received from visiting LNG carriers (that would moor alongside the FSRU), and regasify the LNG to meet gas market demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public is currently being invited to comment on the draft Scoping Requirements for the Viva Energy Gas Terminal Project Environment Effects Statement (EES). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Download the Draft Scoping Requirements, the Draft Scoping Requirements FAQ&#8217;s and Consultation Plan below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consultation is open from Monday 26 April 2021 until Monday 17 May 2021.
