VRFish is all about working in collaboration with our stakeholders and partners. At VRFish, we believe that the best outcomes for recreational fisheries, the broader environment and community are forged on a foundation of strong and inclusive partnerships.
Our partnerships are many and varied and span across a diversity of subject and geographic areas.

Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA)
We work very closely with the VFA to ensure our recreational fisheries are managed sustainably, continue to grow and improve and meet the current and future needs of Victorian recreational fishers.

Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV)
We are working closely with the BIAV in advocacy efforts to reform Victoria’s boating infrastructure governance and funding model to increase the quality, safety and capacity of our boat ramp.

Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation (ARFF)
VRFish are voting members of Australia’s National recreational fishing peak body, ARFF, and work on a range of issues including Southern blue fin tuna, Commonwealth managed fisheries, marine parks and promoting fishing through National Gone Fishing Day.

North Central Catchment Management Authority
We are working on a Native Fish Recovery Plan to help restore native fish populations and waterway health on the Gunbower Creek and lower Loddon River in northern Victoria.

The Nature Conservancy (Australia)
We are working alongside our members, the Albert Park Angling and Aquatic Club and The Nature Conservancy to restore Port Phillip Bay’s lost living shellfish reefs to support a healthier bay and fish stocks.

GoFish Nagambie
We are working with organisers Australia’s largest and richest fishing competition and our local members to celebrate the success of native fish restocking, resurgence of Murray cod and golden perch fishing in the area and supporting anglers in their catch and release techniques.

Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne)
We are working with the Port on an ongoing campaign raising awareness of fishers to steer clear of ships in the transit only zone and during kingfish season at the ‘rip’ in Port Phillip Bay.

OzFish Unlimited
We are working with OzFish Unlimited to help mobilise Victoria’s recreational fishing community to get involved in habitat protection and restoration.

Glenelg-Hopkins Catchment Management Authority
We are working to with Glenelg-Hopkins CMA to involve fishers in catchment management and environmental watering decisions leading to on-ground habitat projects and better fishing.
