Redmap

Redmap (Range Extension Database & Mapping project) invites the Australian community to spot, log and map marine species that are uncommon in Australia, or along particular parts of our coast.

Over time, Redmap will use this data from fishers to map which Australian marine species may be extending their distribution range – a.k.a moving into new areas – in response to changes in the marine environment, such as ocean warming.

Visit the Redmap website to learn more, including which species are considered unusual to your local area and to submit your sightings.
