Seymour Boat Ramp Upgrade

Have your say on the Manners Street boat ramp in Seymour

If you go fishing and boating on the Goulburn River, near Seymour, it’s time to have your say on the planned upgrades at the Manners Street boat ramp.

Better Boating Victoria and the Mitchell Shire Council are seeking input from recreational boaters on plans to upgrade the Manners Road boat ramp in Lions Park, Seymour.

The current single lane concrete ‘geomesh’ boat ramp has deteriorated over time, an adjacent rock wall immediately upstream of the ramp which provides some protection from higher velocities river flow periods, and a fixed jetty downstream of the boat ramp which provides little benefit to boaters due to the height and wide concrete footings.

The proposed concept includes: replacing the existing ramp and increasing the width to 4.5m, lower existing jetty, construct sand bags between ramp and jetty, increase height of the existing breakwater, maintain existing parking with dedicated signage for boats and trailers, and maintain existing pedestrian viewing platform away from ramp.

Visit the Better Boating Victoria website here to view the concept and complete the online survey.

A draft concept plan has been developed to enable public review and feedback. Consultation is open until March 6 2024.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSION

A community information session will be held on Wednesday 21 February from 4pm to 6pm at the Lions Park, adjacent to the Manners St boat ramp.
