Don’t get caught out when buying your fishing licence

Following reports of unauthorised sellers charging additional fees, the Victorian Fisheries Authority are reminding recreational fishers to use the Service Victoria website when purchasing a fishing licence online.

If you’re purchasing online, make sure you visit the official the Service Victoria website and look for the orange Service Victoria logo. It only takes 3 minutes to sign up, and includes a discount when purchasing online.

Never pay more than the prices listed on the Service Victoria website or on the VFA’s website. If a seller is asking a different price, don’t pay and advise them to check with the VFA.

If you’d prefer to purchase your fishing licence in person, there are a range of authorised agents listed on the VFA’s website here.

To purchase your fishing licence, visit the Service Victoria website here.

If you need further assistance, contact the Victorian Fisheries Authority on 136 186.
