VRFish Announces Resignation of Executive Officer, Ben Scullin
To our valued members of VRFish and the Victorian recreational fishing community,
VRFish, the peak body for Victoria’s recreational fishing, announces the resignation of Ben Scullin from his position as Executive Officer effective immediately.
During his time with VRFish, Ben played an important role in strengthening relationships across the recreational fishing sector, advancing key initiatives, and ensuring the voice of recreational fishers was heard by decision-makers.
Ben’s passion for recreational fishing and service to make fishing better for Victorian fishers cannot be understated. From winning back access to public land and increasing investment in boat ramps to ensuring the draft Animal Welfare bill did not negatively impact recreational fishing and supporting grassroots advocacy campaigns, Ben has achieved some big wins for recreational fishers during his time with VRFish.
Ben’s dedication to engaging with the recreational fishing community saw a growth in VRFish membership and the development of the Lure Learning Program proved to be a hit amongst all fishers who participated.
The VRFish Board and members extend their sincere thanks to Ben for his service, dedication, and the positive impact he has had on the recreational fishing community. His commitment to supporting our members and Victorian recreational fishers and advocating for their interests has been invaluable to VRFish.
The VRFish Board has appointed Scott Jefferis as Interim Executive Officer while it undertakes the process of recruiting a permanent replacement for the position.
On behalf of all VRFish members, staff and stakeholders, we thank Ben for his contribution and dedication to VRFish and the recreational fishers of Victoria. We wish him all the best for the future.
