Sporting Club Grants Open via Sport and Recreation

This week, Sport and Recreation have opened the latest round of the Sporting Club Grants Program.

The Sporting Club Grants Program provides funding for community sport and active recreation organisations across Victoria and new funding categories are available.

Access to this funding helps grassroots clubs and organisations address barriers in participation, develop safe and sustainable practices and build social and active local communities.

This program assists organisations to:

  • purchase uniforms and equipment that are essential for participation, first-aid and safety
  • attract, build the capability and retain a skilled workforce – both volunteer and paid
  • increase equity, diversity and inclusiveness
  • implement good governance practices
  • increase participation of individuals and communities who participate less
  • create opportunities so Victorians can participate in ways that suit them
  • build a robust sector that responds to current and changing community needssupport athletes to achieve success in their sport.

In 2025-26 there are five categories that your club may be eligible to apply for:

  • On-field uniforms or equipment
    Up to $1,000 to purchase on-field playing uniforms, participation equipment for competitors and active participants, safety, injury prevention and first-aid equipment.
  • Volunteer and officials
    Up to $5,000 for projects that improve the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches and/or officials and projects that improve volunteer-retention.
  • Access and engagement
    Up to $5,000 to deliver a series of sport session for adult participants OR up to $2,500 to host a single-session event for children and young people.
  • Travel
    Up to $750 to help with travel costs for athletes selected for representative competition, selection trials or training camps.
  • Governance and engagement
    Up to $1,500 to strengthen governance practices and ensure long-term sustainability.

First Round (2025-26)

The first round of applications opened on Thursday, 23 October and close 4pm, Wednesday 26 November 2025.

Second Round (2025-26)

The second round of applications will open Wednesday 10 February 2026 and close 4 pm, Wednesday 18 March 2026.
