Campaspe River flow release moved forward

The North Central CMA, acting as Water for the Environment manager for the Campaspe River downstream of the Eppalock reservoir, have advised of an early flow release.

Recent monitoring of the river has picked up a minor fall in dissolved oxygen levels in a small section in the mid reaches of the river. As a precaution, the planned Campaspe River summer/autumn fresh flow has been moved foreward to Thursday 23rd March 2023. The low oxygen levels in the mid reach of the river have not been recorded as critical, and there have been no reports of fish deaths.

The flow will be ramped up to a peak flow of 200 ML/day at Rochester and will be maintained for two days, then reduced back to lower flows for the remainder of the autumn period.
