Fun fishing events for the school holidays

There are still a range of activities to get involved in with your family before the summer holidays come to an end. Below we’ve listed some upcoming events that will be held over the coming weeks, including family friendly and all abilities events, across Victoria.


FISHCARE VICTORIA FISHING CLINICS

Fishcare Victoria are hosting a range of come and try fishing clinics during January.

THAT’S THE THING ABOUT FISHING FISHING CLINICS

That’s The Thing About Fishing (TTTAF) have announced their summer school holiday events. Each clinic starts at 9.30am and runs for approximately 3 hours.

  • 24 January | Patterson Lakes (Boat Ramp 4, Launching Way)
  • 28 January | Frankston Pier

CORIO BAY ANGLERS COME & TRY FISHING DAYS

The Corio Bay Anglers Club are hosting two ‘Come and Try Fishing’ days for kids in the Geelong and surrounding areas to learn how to fish!

Date: 27 & 28 January 2024
Time: 9am – 5pm (Both days)

HOOKED ON PORTLAND

Hooked On Portland is an annual fishing and seafood festival held in Portland on the last weekend of January.

The Victorian Fisheries Authority will be hosting kids fishing clinics, providing education, casting clinics, chatting all things saltwater fishing and more.

There will also be a range of food stalls, an artisan market featuring local handmade items and live music.

Date: Saturday 27 January
Time: 10am-8pm

WOMEN IN RECREATIONAL FISHING AND BOATING CLINIC

If you’re keen to learn the basics of bait and lure fishing, the Women in Recreational Fishing and Boating and Fishcare Victoria are hosting a women’s learn to fish clinic at the Hopkin’s River.
