VRFish, the recreational fishing peak body in Victoria, is thrilled to welcome our new Board members following our recent Annual General Meeting.
VRFish Chairman, Mr. Rob Loats, said “We have welcomed new members John Spragg and Cody McLeod to the VRFish Board who will bring a fresh perspective to our operations.”
“We also congratulate Steven Relf, Lydia Cahill and Scott Jefferis who were re-elected to the Board.”
The new additions will further enhance the strength of the VRFish Board with a breadth of favourable experience.
“John’s proven experience in management, dispute resolution, and his passion for sustainability will be an asset to the VRFish Board.”
“At 20-years-old, Cody is our youngest ever Board member and will bring to VRFish a young leader’s perspective. His valuable experience includes financial analysis, business growth strategies and managing complex environmental projects.”
The 2024 VRFish Board Election process saw a range of records broken including a record number of nominees, a record number of votes and the election of our youngest ever Board member.
“This shows us that recreational fishers are passionate, engaged and driven to give back to recreational fishing in Victoria.”
The calibre of nominees and the high level of engagement from our members demonstrates the importance of having a strong and independent peak body representing Victorian recreational fishing.
“We also thank retiring member, Neville Dance, for his contribution to the Board over many years and his great work in representing recreational fishers.”
The new and re-elected members join Rob Loats, Rita Caulfield, Jingjing Nan and Lee Spyrou on the VRFish Board.
VRFish has a gender equity board policy which has been maintained.
