Have your say on management of the Corangamite catchment’s waterways over the coming ten years
The Corangamite catchment encompasses waterways from Ballarat to the Otway Coast, the Western District Lakes across to Corio Bay, Bellarine Peninsula to the twelve Apostles.
The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) are currently renewing the Corangamite Regional Waterway Strategy. The new strategy will guide investment in waterway management in the region, help ensure a shared understanding of waterway priorities and drive the work of agencies and community groups.
This stage of the public consultation aims to hear from the community and stakeholders on:
- Identification of the regional threats to waterway health and opportunities for waterway management – has anything that could impact management of our waterways (positively or negatively) not been accounted for?
- Summary of the current values and threats for each of the eleven Waterway Systems – are there any local factors impacting waterway health that have not been captured but need to be taken into consideration in setting our outcomes and priorities?
- The draft Regional Outcomes, and the priorities for each Waterway System – is anything missing, could the focus be tightened, are there other management approaches that need to be considered?
- The implementation approach – noting it will be a ‘living’ document over the coming years, does the Implementation Plan give enough detail on how and where activities need to happen while allowing us to adaptively manage implementation as funding opportunities arise, new threats emerge, or our context changes in other ways?
