Do you go boating at Hastings? It’s time to have your say on the Hastings boat ramp’s carpark designs.
Mornington Peninsula Shire are working on a concept design for the Hastings Boat Ramp Carpark upgrade. The Shire is proposing a new concept design for the carpark, which includes changes to parking layouts, vegetation, green space, and connections to the Western Port Bay Trail.
They’ve identified that the current carpark at the Hastings boat ramp has limited capacity, outdated design and congestion issues. With this in mind, they’re aiming to improve safety, traffic flow, parking and access for boat ramp users and the wider community.
To assist you in preparing your submission, we’ve included a document below which shows Don from Westernport Angling Club’s ideas for the carpark at Hastings boat ramp. In Don’s designs, it shows that boaters could gain another 23 trailer bays with an additional 32m of bitumen; this would lead to 110 on bitumen plus more spaces on the overflow grass. For comparison, Patterson River’s Launching Way has 146 bays on bitumen and Rye has 126.
