VRFish: Advocating for Recreational Fishers in Victoria

Victoria is home to some of the most beautiful waterways in Australia, making it a popular destination for recreational fishers. However, with increasing environmental pressures and government policies, it can be challenging for recreational fishers to enjoy their hobby. This is where VRFish comes in – an organisation dedicated to advocating for all recreational fishers in Victoria.

VRFish has been working for recreational fishers in Victoria for over 25 years. We have been advocating for better fishing opportunities, promoting sustainable fishing practices, and protecting the fish habitats in the region. One of the significant issues we are currently working on is the Upper Teddington Reservoir.

The Upper Teddington Reservoir is an important location for recreational fishers in Victoria. It is home to a variety of fish species and is a hotspot for campers, walkers and mountain bikers. However, the reservoir is at risk of being decommissioned by Parks Victoria. VRFish is actively advocating for the reservoir to be saved and for recreational fishing to continue in the area.

VRFish has also been engaging with the local community and recreational fishers to raise awareness about the issue. We have been encouraging people to write to their local MPs and the Victorian Ministers to express their support for the Upper Teddington Reservoir.

VRFish continues to work for recreational fishers throughout all of Victoria. If you love fishing as much as we do, and there is an issue you think needs addressing, sign up to be one of our members and we can help make fishing better.
